My crazy friend Wynne is changing the world
Hi My Crazy Adoption readers! My name is Wynne Elder + I blog over on Gloriously Ruined and I am so excited to be with you today! I have had the crazy honor and privilege to get to know “mama kiki” as we served alongside of each other for 2 months in Ethiopia last summer, and let me just tell you – she is just as amazing “in real life” as she is on her awesome blog.
She is like an older sister to me, and one of my biggest cheerleaders! She has challenged me, encouraged me, prayed for and with me, and loved me like her little sister and I am forever grateful! We’ve been talking forever about me sharing my adoption story on her blog + now that our adoption story is on film, it seems like the perfect time! The Fotolantrhopy [if you don’t know who they are, check them out!] team did an amazing job of telling our story in 8.5 minutes and I can’t wait for you to watch it!
One thing I want to encourage you, is to say YES to whatever it is God is calling you to do! Adoption was NEVER on my radar, and neither was Africa or missions, but God had a plan MUCH bigger and greater than I could have ever dreamed. The story didn’t all unfold at once, but all it took was saying YES to God and taking one step at a time. Adoption is a beautiful thing and it has opened our eyes up to so many other things we are passionate about: orphan care, clean water, shopping fair trade/purchasing with purpose, and unreached people groups to name a few. If God is calling you to adopt, then sister I am so excited for you!
“Our lives have been completely changed from saying yes. I think my encouragement to people who are on the brink of something that could radically change their lives is do it, say yes, don’t be afraid, you really can do it.” Wynne
You can find me on my blog, Gloriously Ruined, my Noonday Collection site, also on facebook, twitter, and instagram. I’d love to start a conversation with you! “Many, Lord my God are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you, were I to speak and tell of your deeds, there would be too many to declare.” (Ps 40:5)
My Life Is Crazy Too is a series of reader submissions. Your life is a story … this is your opportunity to share your stories about life, love, and mommyhood to provide understanding, hope, and compassion in the unique situations each of us face every day. “Your love, God, is my song, and I’ll sing it! I’m forever telling everyone how faithful you are. I’ll never quit telling the STORY of your love.” Ps 89:1 If you would like to submit a story to this series, send to karigib@gmail.com.
