You MUST read Half by the Sky. Incredible.
I just read Age 10 and Divorced which was excellent- very real and thought provoking and ties in well with Half the Sky- girls rights.
I also read I Shall Not Hate by Dr. Abulaish. Very inspiring and a testament to how we should all strive to live.
I am also reading People magazine 🙂 Yaa Project Hopeful!!
I'm currently reading "Radical" by David Platt. Very real look at American Christianity vs. the needs of the world.
Prior to that was "Father to the Fatherless – The Charles Mulli Story." Amazing book about an orphaned boy in Kenya who grows up to be a very successful businessman. He then sells it all when God calls him to reach out to the Kenyan street children. He later starts several children's homes and schools for orphans. His schools eventually impact the lives of hundreds and hundreds of Kenyan orphans.
Just finished reading 3 Young Adult Fiction books (that my daughter is also reading). All were good. Goose Girl by Shannon Hale; Chasing Lincoln's Killer; Fever 1793. Also just finished West with the Night by Beryl Markham. Great book about East Africa in the early 1900's. And am continuing to read Toddler Adoption; and Attaching in Adoption.
Right now I am reading Animal Farm, Why I Stayed (Gayle Haggard), The Mission of Motherhood (Sally Clarkson) and some others. The Gayle Haggard story is very interesting so far. I imagine that I will finish it first.
Finished today: Choosing to See by Mary Beth Chapman. Fantastic!
I just ready Radical by David Platt too, and I thought it was great. A life-changing book for sure.
If I am ever really wanting to read a great book, I go to Francine RIvers. She is an amazing author. I have read most of her books and have never been disappointed 🙂
About halfway through The Same Kind of Different As Me. It is so good. A few weeks ago finished Radical. Wow! That one will change you.
I just have to say that we love love love the knuffle bunny series and llama llama as well. Another children's book series that my kids absolutely love is Skippy Jon Jones – not only do they love it but I love reading them. They are so much fun to read!
The Irresistible Revolution by Sean Claiborne, very cool and challenge look and living differently in Christ, living in a community.
