  1. In my parents house we have a Christmas tree that is decorated purely with white or silver ornmanents. Most of the ornaments are of angels or stars,in recent years snowflakes have been added. This year my artist of a mother added silver ornaments with words like love, joy, peace and hope. The tree represents loved ones that have gone to be with the Lord. The tree started after my brother passed away and continued through my sister's death. For many years, my mother would buy an angel ornament for each off them but now she has expanded into stars and snowflakes. It has been nicknamed the 'Emily and Daniel Tree' and has always had a spot in the family room this time of year.

Each time I look at them, I'm transported back to Desta's Th and her life there. What a great idea and heritage for your kids to have an entire tree. I might try that next year in Desta's room…a little tree just for her!

  3. It's not "crazy", but my tree this year is my favorite because I have ornaments on it that my oldest son was finally old enough to create this year and last. I'm putting my youngest's son handprint ornament on it this year and we have an Africa inspired ornament on it way in honor of our daughter to be. It's all just too good to be true. It makes me want to cry.

  4. What a cool idea! I have 3 kids 4 and under, so we have done a "childproof" tree with tags made of the photo cards we received the previous Christmas. We keep all of the cards in a basket and pull one out each night at dinner to pray for that family, then put them all on the tree. The kids love looking at them and I don't have to worry about things getting broken!
