  3. I added your blog to my blog roll and I did a blog post about your giveaway. Next I'm buying a t-shirt. My husband and I are in the process of adopting a baby girl from Ethiopia. We cannot wait to have her home and would love to visit Ethipia and do God's work while we wait to bring her home.

  4. Hi Kari, I posted your button on my blog and I also shared on facebook! I can't believe you only have one spot left! I am hoping my letters of recommendation get turned in today!

  5. Good morning Kari and family :). Kari, you know my heart. You feel the anquish my family feels each and every day we are without BOTH of our little girls. I have felt God's calling to help, have followed, and still remain somewhat aimless. The journey of life can send us on such twists and turns, that is difficult to know which way is up at times. Our hearts has grown immensely during our struggle, and they have broken just as much. To give the gift of love in a way I have only dreamed about… to join you on a mission trip…would be like feeling the kiss of God. I would be honored to be even a small part of it. To make the journey of a lifetime, we must first take 1 step. I am taking that step :).

  6. My heart breaks for Ethiopia and injustice. James 1:27 🙂 In meetin immediate needs of the cournty I hope to show Christ by my actions and help the broken and hurting. I have been wanting to go for years but the time never has been right!

I sent an email out to friends!

  7. You are on my blog roll! I shared this on Facebook! I just bought TWO t-shirts…wish I could buy more! I would love to go to Ethioipia for MANY reasons. The Lord has certainly pulled our famlies hearts towards the country. We are currently raising funds to pursue the adoption of siblings from Africa…most likely Ethiopia. I would love to serve in the country before our adoptions are final!! I am really interested in working at Korah :o) kari, you're awesome…thanks for letting the Lord work through you in such an amazing way!

  8. Posted on the blog. That fed through facebook. Have the cute mission trip tag. You're already a permalink on my blog. I want to go to Ethiopia because I'm in love with the people, in love with Jesus, and I want to live out the gospel in that way. Plus who wouldn't want to hang with you! 🙂

  9. I bought a shirt yesterday, added you to my blog roll yesterday, added your button today, and posted about this awesome gift that will be granted to 2 people.

Our family mission is to follow the steps of Jesus where ever they may go, from the United States, to Taiwan, to Vietnam, Costa Rica, Africa, to the ends of the earth.

    Blessings to you!

  10. WHY I would want to go {back} to Ethiopia? How do you put into words what is an unexplainable tug on your heart – or – "from" your heart?

Is it those eyes? All those sweet, sweet children who exude joy in the midst of so little. Or so much?

I have always been an adventurous soul…wanting to know what was over the next hill or around the next corner. I want to see so much of what I have yet to see. When we landed in Addis over 3 years ago, I was brimming with excitement in a land of suffering and desolation…wanting to breathe in what was so, so foreign to me…all the while KNOWING I would never experience it authentically….not from my position of privilege and undeserved blessings.

One of my absolute favorite experiences was our trip to the HIV+ orphanage. I went with people who were not sure if they should touch the children – but – God gave me this sense of ignorance and peace and genuine desire to reach out to them right away….to sit down on the cool tile floor, let them climb all over me, kiss their foreheads and help them unwrap their daily vitamin supplements. Their sparkling eyes and brilliant smiles…without a single word crossing their lips…beckoned me irresistibly to engage them, to playfully tease them and elicit precious giggles. I did not want to leave and from that moment on, I have desired to return. I would have scooped them all up and held them forever if it were humanly possible.

How can a person from such a comfortable existence so strongly desire to return to a land of so little, a land of suffering and unanswered questions that plague the heart? Maybe I will ask God when I get to heaven….but I think I will know full well, once I get there.

*I posted on FB, added your CUTE button, blogged and….off to order my 3rd t-shirt! Get compliments on the 2 I ordered months ago!

  11. I have made a post about your giveaway on my blog, manasfamilyjourney.blogspot.com. Also, posted on Facebook!

  12. My eyes and heart have been opened to the plight of orphans around the world from the 147 million orphan ladies and following Katie Davis with Amazima's blog. I have never been on a mission trip, and I would LOVE for my bubble to be burst by seeing it for myself. We are currently sponsoring a couple of children, but I feel God tugging at me to do more. This mission trip would be so exciting and life changing for me. Thanks for the chance to win. (I am posting it on FB again since I don't have a blog.)

  13. I am blessed to be going to Africa on my first mission trip in January with The Raining Season. If I am chosen, I will give my entry to my sister, who would LOVE to go on her first trip too. I'm going to give a shout out on FB.

  14. i would love to go to on a mission trip to ethiopia because i want to snuggle the orphans! we are adopting from ethiopia, waiting for home study approval from our state. and i can't wait to visit our soon-to-be daughters birth country.

    also posting to facebook!

  15. I really want to return to Ethiopia…after bringing home our sweet daughter in July, we are haunted by her story. We really want to travel back to her homeland and try to make a connection with her relatives. We NEED to let them know how much she is loved and how amazing she is!

(also adding you to my bloglist)

  16. I added you to my permanent blog roll :O). I would LOVE to go to Ethiopia! I have spent so much time trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life, whether it be go back to work or school (I am a stay at home mom now).. and I really couldn't decide what it was that I was passionate about and how I could inspire my children to find their own passion in life and learn to grow and accept and be inspired by all people, everywhere. Until I realized that I'm just as passionate about ALL CHILDREN as I am about my own. And now I can't imagine spending my life doing anything other than doing whatever I can to make a child's life better somehow, somewhere, in some way.

  17. I would love to go on a missions trip to Ethiopia. My husband and our 15 year old daughter went in February and fell in love with Ethiopia. We are supporting a girl from Korah (who I would love to meet). My husband and daughter went to the Fistula clinic and had a memorable day there too. I am hoping to get to Africa in the next year or two. Our eyes have definitely been opened to the needs of the widows and orphans.

  18. I added you to my blog (http://jessica-c-edwards.blogspot.com/) and posted on fb. I would love to make a mission trip to Ethopia my first real trip out of the country!! I am a social worker working in child welfare in Georgia and have never had the opportunity to experience other countries and help outside of the US. I would have so much to share and would learn so much from the trip. My "mother in law" is going on the trip and I couldn't think of a more amazing experience!!!!!

  19. I just added it to FB and my blog.

I have been praying for an opportunity to arise that would lead me to Ethiopia. I have never been but would love the opportunity to go. My husband and I would love to adopt from Ethiopia one day.

  20. This is such an amazing opportunity to really see and experience firsthand the lives that we often read about in blog land or experience briefly while adopting. My wife and I recently adopted, but we've been praying for an opportunity to connect more with our son's heritage so we can share it with him as he grows older. Plus, it would be loads of fun!

    (posted of FB too)

  21. Posted your button. I just finished reading "There Is No Me Without You." LOVED reading about the people/the struggles they are facing in Ethiopia. Would be so cool to see it in person…I know God would change me so much through meeting the people there!

  22. I've been thinking and praying about this giveaway all day! I am at work now, but I plan on adding you to my bloglist and buying a t-shirt when I get home! I have been praying for God to show me how I can help the children of Ethiopia until we can begin our adoption process. We have been waiting for 6 months to be able to apply but we still have to wait a little longer. I will keep praying for your giveaway- you are blessing someone's life in a big way!

  23. #1: you are on my blogroll!

#2: reason I wanna go to ethiopia: Always had a heart for ethiopia, have two sponsored boys there (one at Children's home ethiopia – now called onesimus, the other at yezelalem minch)… and we hope to adopt from there someday! heading to your store now to buy a shirt!

  24. Well, as I said before at my last attempt at winning, I have done all of the above items. 🙂 And I heart Ethiopia. AND I heart Kari. 🙂

  25. I had the privelege of going on a trip to Ethiopia just recently. It changed my life! My husband (who didn't get to go) and I are praying about adopting from there and I would love to send him on a free trip! Thank you for doing this and I'm excited for whoever does get to go- God's love is evident there in deep ways!

  26. Kari I posted about this give away on my facebook page. I will be emailing you why I want to go to Africa. This is so exciting!!!!!

  27. Kari, I wrote a post on our blog (allforaerie.blogspot.com) and I email blasted all my friends about the give-away. Plus your button has been on our Blog since we started blogging 🙂 You always inspire me! Why do I want to go? Because that is where our baby girl is coming from, where my heart is 🙂 God bless your giving heart! Angi Cooper DTE 10/19/10

  28. Why do I want to go on this trip to Ethiopia? Because my hubby and I are in the early stages of adopting from Ethiopia, and I feel like a huge piece of my heart is there. I would love to take a trip before our adoption to love on some people, because when we go it will be all business…and getting OUR child. There are so many other children that need love as well!!

I also have you linked on my blog.

Thank you for this incredible opportunity!!

  29. I posted it on FB, you're already perma linked on my blog and here's why I want to go:( but you already know this!)

I was GOING to be on that Feb trip with you but couldn't commit because of our cross country move.

I want African dirt on my feet by next spring. I want to walk in Korah and possibly even meet our sweet 17 year old we sponsored with P61. 🙂

  30. I posted on Facebook and Twitter and if I had a blog I would do the rest too, but I dont, so I will tell you why I would love to win the trip.

I would love to go because of the experience of it. I feel a burden for orphans anywhere, but sometimes you really dont know just how much of a burden you bear until you see it for yourself….I strongly believe that God has given us the command to take care of the orphaned but many of us dont know how that really translates into our everyday lives. That is why, honestly, I want to win the trip slot. Because my dear friend Kryste and her husband Frank HAVE found a way to turn their burden into action and if I get the slot – I will give it to her.

I love you Kryste. And I love your heart.

  31. I have dreamed of doing missions in Africa for several years now. I feel God has laid this heavy on my heart. I just want to help , to give, to simply love. The children of Africa are in dire circumstances. They are orphaned, alone, afraid. I want to show them through the love of Jesus Christ that they have a Father who loves the tremendously, who will NEVER leave them nor forsake them. My heart aches to touch the lives of these children who are in such desperate need. Their faces fill my thoughts and my dreams. I pray for them constantly and pray for God to allow me to do my part.

I know He will make a way , He always does.

    God Bless

  32. I want to go to Africa because I have a huge heart for Orphans. My husband and I are currently getting things ready to adopt a child from Africa and I could not be more excited. I know that a trip to Africa would change my life forever.

  33. #1: Posting on FB and putting button on my blog!!

#2: Our family is currently praying about & saving money for an adoption (or two:) from Ethiopia. We're sooo ready and soooo willing – just waiting for the funding!! I would LOVE to go and love on some children and experience the culture while we're waiting for our own!!!!

  34. What an amazing opportunity! I have added you to my blogroll and facebook'd about this. Headed over to purchase a shirt too! They are awesome!

Thanks for what you're doing. So good.

  35. The work you are doing is awesome….my heart is for the lost and broken in society and i dream that i can give that unconditional Love to those who have never been loved. I am a single parent devoted to my son and i would love to seize the opportunity to extend my family in the future. The opportunity to go to Ethipia would be beyond my greatest dreams.

Thankyou for this opportunity to partake in the mission trip giveaway. I will share on my facebook wall. Much Love…xxx

  39. So fun!

#1 My Crazy Adoption is on my blog roll.

#2 I have your giveaway blog button.

I'm also about to post this on FB because this is just too cool not to share! 🙂

  40. Alright, I couldn't miss out on this 🙂 I added your giveaway button to my blog, wrote a post on my blog, AND shared this on Facebook! I soooo hope I have some friends who do it, I have a few who seemed interested after hearing about my experience! Of course, I would LOOOOOOVE to go back again, especially with you as our leader. Love ya girl! 🙂

  41. I posted this awesome blog on my facebook page, not so much so I'd win, but because I am trying to get the word out to the world (even my limited cyber world) about the great need for an outpouring of love to swoosh on Ethiopia…and to the world!

I am also sending you a message telling you why I would love a trip to Ethiopia. My friend Suzi is why. She has come into my life as a "sparkler" friend sharing the love she has for the country of Ethiopia. Suzi and her hubby Mike have a great 7 year old boy, Jacob, and have adopted awesome Grace from Ethiopia 3 years ago. They are now waiting any day for the referral for their little boy, also from Ethiopia. We are blessed to be great friends..so I feel it's happening to me too! I'd love this trip to go for them instead, but understand their travel will be uncertain, so I'm bummed for that.

I have been blessed beyond belief with 5 kiddos of my own, but would take in a zillion more if possible. Right now it's not, but my heart to love these babies, children, women, and men just is about to burst! We actually just finished a "pad party" for the women of Korah. Awesome time with the ladies of our church trying to provide a tangible and desperately needed feminine hygiene for these gals. Actually shook up the whole church a bit.. too fun. Word's gotten out in the community as well. How cool is that?

Regardless of my long post here, I love Ethiopia, actually all children in need, and pray for the opportunity to get the the country when the Lord allows. Whether it be in this awesome contest or another mission trip… I will go!! I will go soon.

Thank you for your heart to share this gospel message with any who will read, listen, and prayerfully share. May this spread to millions….

    Blessings,

    Cheramy Mayfield

  42. I would love to go back to Ethiopia. After our adoption earlier this year, I have been thinking about how I can get back thier before our next adoption. 🙂

I also put your blog on my blogroll.

Thanks, Kari. Your mission trip giveawy is AWESOME!!

  43. Wow – what an amazing opportunity!! A friend of mine passed your blog to me today and I'm SO excited =) Here are the formalities: I wrote about your trip/giveaway on my blog, put you on my permanant blogroll and also posted it on facebook! I know I'm supposed to only do two but I couldn't help but spread the word more!

Now because I can't help myself, I wanted to let you know that this trip would be a DREAM come true!! My husband and I are 6 months into our adoption journey to bring our baby boy home from Ethiopia. We just go ton our agency's waitlist and have been told the wait is 12-18 months. To be able to go to Ethiopia in Feb. to experience our baby's homeland would be simply amazing and such an invaluable experience. God has really stirred our hearts the past 6 months – we feel like we are being called to do more – what that is, we don't know yet but I know this trip would really bless us immensely. To love on those orphans, to visit Korah, to hear, taste, see Africa – I'm giddy just thinking about it!

    Thanks for this opportunity!

  44. i posted you on my facebook page and sent you an email. i would love to be chosen to snuggle and cuddle with babies that need some compassion and tenderness to brighten their days and hopefully their lives. blessings to you and your mission!!!

  45. I LOVE this givaway! I have followed all the rules and would now like to tell you why I would LOVE to go to Ethiopia on this mission…. Both my sweet boys came home this year from Ethiopia and I have a strong calling to return and help the people of Ethiopia in any way possible!

    Thank you

    Amber

  46. Firstly, I would LOVE to go to Ethiopia because my husband and I are talking about adopting from either Ethiopia or Uganda and I want to go to both countries SOON! Secondly, I sent a FB message to quite a few of my girlfriends who are all equally globally-minded. 🙂 THIS IS AWESOME!

  47. I want to go to Ethiopia because I first fell in love with Africa when I visited Malawi and would really like to return. And I e-mailed some of my church co-workers about the opportunity. Thanks!

  48. Kari, I posted your link on facebook & I'm writing as to why I would love a missions trip to Ethiopia. I began following your blog immediately before your Gotcha Day with Zoie. I fell in love with Ethiopia through your eyes. God had already placed adoption on the hearts of my husband & myself. Very recently, He instructed us to move forward. After much prayer & time in His Word, He confirmed adoption from Ethiopia to us. We are currently in the home study process. I would love to win the trip because it gives me a chance to get to know my daughter's birth country before we even meet her. I want to know and love her heritage so I can share that knowledge and love with her. Thank you for the opportunity.

  49. I follow your blog almost daily and am so inspired by your family and your giveaways. A year and a half ago we adopted our youngest son from Ethiopia and my husband and I fell in love with that country and people immediately. I was so hesitate to travel there to pick up our son and now long for the day to go back. I would love to be a part of your team traveling in February for soooooooo many reasons that it could take hours to write so i will spare you. God Bless you, your family and obviously your upcoming trip!!!! 🙂
